ABOUT US

At The Rebuild Clinic we are focused on more than just the treatment of the injury itself. We want to understand the root of the pain and injury and develop a plan to treat the cause as well as the pain. We work with a wide variety of clients from elite athletes to weekend warriors, as well as people dealing with chronic pain caused by everyday activities such as work or stress.

PATRICK CONNOLLY

Sports Injury & Orthopedic Pain Therapist

Hi, my name is Patrick and welcome to the website of my clinic, The Rebuild Clinic. I have been involved in athletics since I first joined my local running club, Dunleer AC, when I was 10 years old. I had a very successful junior career winning multiple All Ireland medals. As an athlete in my early 20's, I became fascinated with the causes of pain and injury. I completed my studies in Sports Injury and Remedial Massage Therapy with the National School of Remedial Therapy and launched The Rebuild Clinic. I am currently also studying with the National Training Centre and with world renowned anatomist, Dr. John Sharkey. I also hold qualifications in Dry Needling and Pitchside/Event Therapy.

I am a member of the Irish Massage Therapists Association and as well as managing the clinic, I am also a running coach working with senior athletes of all abilities in Dunleer AC.

SERVICES

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep massage helps to relieve tension and pain in muscle tissues, and improves blood flow which aids recovery.

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling, also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, is the use of either solid filiform needles for the treatment of sports related or everyday muscle pain

MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUES

METs use controlled muscle contractions in specific directions to help improve the flexibility of tight muscles and fascia.

POSITIONAL RELEASE

Positional release involves the therapist placing a muscle or joint in a comfortable position to facilitate the return of normal tone and function to dysfunctional tissue.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Constant pressure is applied to tender or sore spots in muscle tissue (called trigger points) which can cause a decrease in pain and a return to normal function.

REHABILITATION EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION

As well as treating the injury, a primary objective of the clinic is to ensure that the injury doesn’t return. We prescribe evolving rehabilitation programmes that tackle the root cause of the issue, and ensure you can return to your sport/activity or daily life with full confidence.

“Great therapy and advice, got me running after injury and 4 months of pain.”

“I have to say that Patrick was very informative in regards to the injury and pinpointed where it stemmed from. He was able to alleviate the pain and gave relevant exercises to ensure its improvement. I would not hesitate to go back to Patrick and would happily recommend.”
